AN OVERVIEW OF THE SUSTAINABILITY PLAN OF TOORO BABIES HOME
TCCC is working closely with the Board of governors of Tooro Babies home to ensure that the current state of affairs does not change.
WHAT IS BEING DONE NOW
TCCC is currently involved with the daily running of the home while the board is focusing on the strategic direction which is shared and jointly implemented.
The Board of governors are now looking at how to have a stable financial base for the Babies home to supplement what is being allocated to the home by TCCC.
The home has a plot of land in kagote which is now an up coming residential area. The board has decided to construct a 2 storied block with 15 2 bed roomed apartment and a hostel since our town now has 2 universities(Assured clients).
They have so far attracted friends from AEE in Australia and are looking for more friends since it is a big project.
TCCC is now looking at how the home can be cost effective. Projects like solar project and construction of water
harvesting tanks and growing food are some of the ways introduced to cut costs. Currently the land meant for the
permanent home is now the food basket for the home.
In 2011 we expect to cut cost since the farm is taking shape.
TCCC is now planning how to solve the immediate problem of settling those children that are above four years.
This is by constructing the permanent home. The setting of this home will be to the level of a moderate middle
income earner in Uganda. The only difference will be that it will have big recreational ground since we
intend to allow the children from the neighboring villages to come and interact with the children in the home.
